Kipungani Explorer is situated at the end of 12km crescent beach on the southern tip of Lamu Island, off the Northern Coast of Kenya. A 90 minutes flight from Nairobi takes you to the ancient sleepy island of Lamu. On landing at Manda Island, [Kipungani’s neighboring island] you will be met by our representative before boarding a traditional Swahili dhow for your transfer to Kipungani. Just 14 chalets lie well spaced along the 600 metre sea frontage, each hidden in it’s own secluded clearing. The en-suite chalet features king size beds and a private sea-facing verandah with local Swahili furniture. There are no doors or windows, just roll-down mats which let in the air & frame the lovely views of the sand and sea. Dining is a delight at Kipungani, with great platters of seafood, perfect fresh salads and amazing Swahili fish soups. Other meat dishes and Vegetarian meals are also available on request. Several water sports and tours to the Stone Town in Lamu can be organized at the resort. Package includes meals and non-motorized sports.
